As an international financial centre, Singapore continues to be a choice location for global financial talent. The International Institute of Management Development World Competitiveness Yearbook 2006 rated Singapore as one of the most attractive economies for foreign high-skilled professionals, ahead of other world-class locations such as the UK, Australia, Canada and Ireland.
To reach out more actively to overseas financial talent, MAS, together with the Ministry of Manpower and the finance industry, held a series of roadshows to key cities in the US (New York, Chicago, Boston, Los Angeles and San Francisco), the UK (London, Oxford and Cambridge), and Australia (Sydney and Melbourne). Industry participants included global and regional financial institutions such as Citibank, Standard Chartered, HSBC, Coutts, Temasek Holdings, DBS Bank, Oversea Chinese Banking Corporation and United Overseas Bank. More than 1,000 students and working professionals attended our US and UK roadshows to learn more about Asia’s growth and opportunities, as well as the latest
