Industry Work Group on Securities and Futures Act/ Financial Advisers Act Amendments
MAS engaged industry participants over a three month period between April and June 2006 to obtain feedback on issues and regulations concerning our capital market. Legal and corporate finance professionals from a wide range of financial institutions as well as a number of law firms participated in the exercise. They provided inputs on a variety of issues and a number of these have been taken on board in MAS’ proposed legislative amendments to the Securities and Futures Act (SFA) and Financial Advisers Act (FAA). This is part of MAS’ efforts to engage the industry early in the law reform process.
