Partnership with Toron to Centre (MAS-Toronto Centre Regional Leadership Programme for Securities Regulators)
The MAS-Toronto Centre Regional Leadership Programme for Securities Regulators (the “Programme”) organised by MAS in partnership with the Toronto International Leadership Centre for Financial Sector Supervision (“Toronto Centre”) took place from 14 to 19 January 2007.

Since 2002, MAS has held an annual Capital Markets Seminar focused on contemporary regulatory issues relevant to regional regulators. Building on the success of our partnership with the Toronto Centre for the Capital Markets Seminars in 2004 and 2005, MAS in 2007 conducted a joint programme with the Toronto Centre using the Toronto Centre Leadership Training Methodology in place of the Capital Markets Seminar.

The Programme was designed for senior and upper-middle level securities regulators in the Asia-Pacific Region. 22 participants
from 14 countries took part in the Programme which involved case studies and role play developed by MAS and the Toronto Centre. The distinguished presenters included David A. Brown, former Chairman of the Ontario Securities Commission, Alan Cameron, former Chairman of the Australian Securities and Investments Commission, and Andrew Sheng, former Chairman of the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission.

The Programme was very well received by the participants. Participants indicated that the topics and methodology covered were highly relevant to their work.
