The Special Projects Adviser assists the Managing Director to oversee and drive strategic MAS projects, such as enhancing the national payments, clearing and settlement infrastructure and to increase payments efficiently, cost effectiveness and e-payments adoption in Singapore.

The External Department shapes the development of MAS' policies on international monetary and financial issues, enabling MAS to play an active role in regional and international financial forums, as well as at WTO/FTA financial services negotiations.  Our Communications division also handles media relations, and is responsible for developing key communication strategies in support of MAS' monetary policy, regulatory and developmental objectives. Together with the Regional Development Division, International Finance and Financial Services Cooperation divisions, our scope of work is multi-dimensional.  At the regional level, we actively participate in regional initiatives that aim to enhance regional financial stability and capital market development. At the international level, we contribute to the work of international standard setting bodies in the areas of banking, insurance and securities, as well as on issues such as anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing, reflecting our role as a key financial centre in the Asian time zone.  To do this work well, we engage foreign central banks, financial regulators, finance ministries and international financial institutions on issues of mutual interest. To grow and enhance the MAS External Relations arm, we are looking for candidates who possess a keen interest to work with people from different cultures and backgrounds. Candidates will have the opportunity to work closely with other Singapore government agencies, and have opportunities to participate in international negotiations, meetings and conferences.  Above all, candidates should have a deep interest in current affairs, possess strong organizational skills, and have a keen eye for details.

Our Legal Counsels at the General Counsel's Office are challenged each day with distinctive opportunities to develop the legal framework for the continuing growth of our financial centre. Individuals should be innovative, highly motivated and driven by a strong desire to embrace and pioneer breakthrough in legislative changes and developing creative  solutions to novel legal issues.  Being commercial minded and having a global outlook are essential qualities of our Legal Counsels as their portfolio encompasses advising on a broad range of commercial agreements and international treaties and instruments.

Internal Audit Department

The Internal Audit Department seeks individuals with an eye for details, and an inquisitive and analytical mind.  As a member of the internal audit function, you will play an assurance role by providing an objective assessment of risk management, internal controls and governance at MAS.  You can also add value by advising management on best practices and assisting them in improving the effectiveness and efficiency of risk management, control and governance process. To be effective in this role, you must have sound knowledge of internal controls and risk-based auditing principles.  We are also looking for people who are results-driven and a team player, with excellent interpersonal and report writing skills.  Keen interest in building a robust control culture in the organisation would help you to excel in the job.

At the Strategic Planning Office, we look for people to drive and facilitate the corporate planning process as well as organizational development initiatives so as to foster an effective and cohesive organisation.  If you identify with the MAS’ objectives, this is where you can advance the collective formulation of our corporate priorities, strategies, and initiatives to accomplish them. In addition, you will be a member of the secretariat for MAS’ board and management fora. Self-motivated, these individuals have the ability to lead, plan and work both independently as well as in a team.
