The Financial Centre Development team is looking for people who enjoy interactions with industry professionals, possess confidence and an entrepreneurial mindset. Taking every fresh challenge in their stride, these self-motivated individuals will play a major role in our ongoing effort to develop Singapore as an international financial centre.  You will be part of a forward-looking team reviewing and formulating strategies for a diverse range of sectors from asset management to manpower planning.  The Department comprises 3 Divisions - the Business Development Division that focus on building strategic relationships with key financial institutions and market players; the Asset Management Division which is responsible for the development of private banking, asset management and insurance industry; and the Strategic Development Division which develops strategies including those for financial manpower development, training and research and tax.

The Financial Markets Strategy Department focuses on the development of capital markets activities in Singapore. The Product Division fosters the development of financial products and financial market infrastructure that enhances Singapore's position as the leading risk management centre and market place to service the financial sector community.  The Sector Division facilitates the anchoring of financing activities for target sector to ensure that a full range of financing instruments are available to foster the growth of enterprises based in Singapore and the region.  We are looking for people who have good working knowledge or interests in financial markets, particularly in capital market products and market infrastructure and candidate with a keen interest in interacting with financial industry professionals.  We are also looking for people who enjoy doing analytical work and are enthusiastic about comparative studies of other countries and financial markets. Taking every fresh challenge in their stride, these self-motivated individuals are crucial to Singapore's standing as a premier financial hub as they are the forward-looking team reviewing and formulating growth strategies in a diverse range of sectors.

Economic Policy Group

Do you have a passion for economics? Would you like to contribute to the formulation of monetary policy in Singapore? The work in the Economic Policy Group encompasses a wide and varied mix of economic forecasting, policy analysis and high-quality research. Our team of economists analyses the latest developments in the external and domestic economies, as well as key industries in Singapore such as electronics and finance. Besides current developments, we also conduct research on longer-term structural issues affecting the Singapore economy such as the impact of an ageing population and changing trade patterns arising from the emergence of Asian production networks. For the more quantitative-minded, we use econometric models to simulate the impact of policy changes on the economy. We are looking for people who have a sound knowledge of economics and strong analytical capabilities. Quantitative skills and/or the ability to write well would be an added advantage.

Markets & Investment Group

The Monetary and Domestic Markets Management Department is responsible for the key central banking functions of implementing monetary policy, issuing Singapore Government Securities, maintaining the stability and functionality of foreign exchange and money markets in Singapore, as well as fostering the development of Singapore dollar markets.  Your role will include transacting in all Singapore dollar markets (including foreign exchange, money and government bond markets), monitoring regional financial markets and working with market participants, industry bodies and other government agencies.  We are looking for people with a strong interest in economic developments and financial markets, a strong grasp of numerical concepts and a passion for public service and lifelong learning.

The Reserve Management Department is responsible for the management of Singapore’s official foreign reserves. We seek to achieve good investment returns within prudent risk parameters. RMD operates in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, and its investment functions are diverse in nature and global in scope. We analyse, formulate, and implement investment strategies across a full range of activities, including asset allocation, active investment, and external fund management. Our investment divisions actively monitor and directly operate in the major bond and currency markets globally, with presence in MAS’ New York and London offices in addition to our head office in Singapore. Our External Fund Management Division carefully selects and cultivates a portfolio of local and international external fund managers, across a range of investment mandates in the major asset classes. We are looking for qualified and motivated candidates with an analytical predisposition, a strong work and team ethic, a high level of integrity and independence, and above all a deep passion and commitment to develop and hone their market knowledge and investment expertise.
