Insurance Regulatory Framework on Securities Lending Activities
The Authority has made amendments to the insurance regulatory framework on securities lending activities. These amendments take effect on 1 Jan 2001. The major changes are below:
- A new MAS Notice 113 on Securities Lending Activities to replace paragraph 6 of the MAS Notice 104 dated 11 Mar 1998.
- Introduction of the Insurance (Exemption) Notification 2000 to exempt insurers from compliance with Section 20 of Insurance Act with regards to insurers having title to securities lent.
