1 With effect from 1 Jan 87, insurers are no longer required to renew their registration annually. An insurer, by paying an annual fee as prescribed under Regulation 32 of the Insurance Regulations 1992, can continue to carry on the insurance business for which it has been licensed provided its registration has not been cancelled or it has not been otherwise directed by the Authority.
Annual Fees
2 Payment of annual fees must be made by crossed cheques drawn in favour of The Monetary Authority of Singapore and forwarded directly to the Finance Department of the Authority. Payment must be made on or before 1st January of each year.
Registration Particulars
3 Every registered insurer shall seek the approval of or inform the Authority, as the case may be, on all changes affecting the insurer's registration particulars (as detailed in MAS 100 Appendix A (PDF, 4.61KB). Notification of changes shall be made as soon as possible but not later than one month after a change has taken place.
