INVESTMENT LIMITS

Description

Percent of Singapore Insurance Fund Assets

(1) Subject to the sub-limit in items (2) and (3), the admitted value of investment in unit trusts, equity shares, preference shares, subscription rights and share warrants

45%

(2) The admitted value of investment in shares of the Stock Exchange of Singapore Dealing and Automated Quotation market and unquoted shares

5%

(3) The admitted value of investment in any one unit trust

10%

(4) The admitted value of direct investment in property and property shares, provided that where an insurer owns an office building whose value exceeds this limit, the full value of the office building shall be admitted and any other property owned shall then be omitted

25%

(5) Subject to the sub-limit in item (6), the admitted value of investment in foreign currency-denominated and overseas assets

30%

(6) The admitted value of foreign currency-denominated and overseas assets, except foreign currency deposits with an approved financial institution, foreign currency fixed income securities graded AA and above and equities listed on any stock exchange

20%

(7) The admitted value of investment in unsecured loans

10%

(8) The admitted value of unsecured loans to any one company or group of companies related to one another

(9) The admitted value of outstanding premiums and agents' balances (in respect of general business only)
