Public Statement on Fraudulent Phone Calls Misusing MAS' Name



MAS has learnt of isolated cases of possible phone scams, purportedly from Hong Kong where MAS' name was misused. These phone calls typically asked the recipients to transfer funds to a particular party or account and indicated that the request for the transfer of money was by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS).

2   MAS does not ask consumers for confidential information or to transfer funds electronically.

4   If you receive unsolicited letters or emails or phone calls purportedly from MAS requesting for your personal information or requesting you to transfer funds, you should report the matter to MAS and the Police and provide any details that you may have such as the telephone number from which the call came.  You can contact us at:
