Application Programming Interfaces (APIs)

An API is a set of formalised commands that allow software applications to talk with each other in a seamless manner. APIs make it possible for innovative applications to leverage on foundation services to create better customer-centric services.

APIs are a crucial enabler for financial institutions to harness the benefits of FinTech. They facilitate financial institutions’ push towards customer-focused initiatives by enabling applications to be developed quickly and responsively. APIs also allow financial institutions to leverage on external talent and tap on emerging and innovative FinTech.
