The MAS sponsored a Public Lecture on 31 October 2003, which featured Professor Ronald MacDonald, Professor of International Finance at the University of Strathclyde. The topic of the lecture was "Equilibrium Exchange Rates and Exchange Rate Forecasting". We believe Prof MacDonald's lecture is both timely and useful, given current concerns about global financial imbalances and the need for exchange rate flexibility in Asia.
