Singapore, 12 July 2007...The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) today launched a set of coins to commemorate Singapore’s 42 years of independence. The coins capture the optimism and pride among Singaporeans from all walks of life as they come together to celebrate our nation’s independence.
About the Coin Design
2 The main feature of the coin design is the National Day Parade (NDP) 2007 logo and the new venue for the parade – the world’s largest performance floating platform at Marina Bay. The coin also features a group of children which symbolizes a young and dynamic Singapore well prepared for challenges ahead.
3 Our city skyline and NDP highlights such as the fireworks display serve as a colourful backdrop of the design.
4 The obverse of the coin bears the Singapore Arms with the year-date 2007.
