Singapore, 8 January 2015… The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) and the Economic Society of Singapore (ESS) today announced the launch of the 13th MAS-ESS Essay Competition. The theme for this year’s competition is “A new economic model for Singapore’s next 50 years”.
2. Writers should consider what would make a good framework to maintain Singapore’s competitiveness in the next 50 years. Their essays should provide an in-depth analysis on the contemporary challenges facing Singapore, and offer innovative ideas and approaches to securing sustainable and inclusive growth.
3. The essay competition is open to all pre-university students studying in Singapore regardless of nationality as well as all pre-university Singaporean students studying abroad. The competition invites submissions from Polytechnics, Centralised Institutes, International Schools, and Junior Colleges as well as from pre-university full-time national servicemen. The following prizes will be awarded for the three best essays:
First Prize $3,000
Second Prize $2,000
Third Prize $1,000
