Singapore, 1 November 2019… The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) announced today that all Singapore citizens and permanent residents who applied for the Singapore Bicentennial $20 commemorative notes were allotted the full quantity requested. In total, MAS received over 200,000 applications for about 1.8 million pieces of notes.
2 Successful applicants will receive an SMS notification by 3 November 2019. The SMS will indicate the number of notes allotted and the bank branch they have selected to exchange for the notes.
3 The exchange period at the banks will run for two weeks, from 4 to 18 November 2019. Applicants who have opted to exchange for their notes at DBS/POSB branches will have a longer period up to 30 November 2019 to make the exchange. This is to avoid long queues from forming as a large number of applicants chose to make their note exchange at DBS/POSB branches. Successful applicants can visit at any time during normal branch operating hours to make the exchange.
4 After the exchange period for online applicants, remaining notes will be available to the public at the bank branches. Each person may exchange up to 10 notes per transaction.
