The EconTech team is a unit dedicated to the exploration and implementation of advanced AI and data science techniques for economic policy purposes. Recent advances in AI open up new possibilities for economic policy work: extracting timely signals from unstructured data, automating analytical workflows, and augmenting how economists monitor and interpret the economy. The intern will work on an EconTech project that explores and prototypes one such application end-to-end, contributing directly to the team's mandate.

The project undertaken by the intern may involve, but is not limited to:

Financial Centre Development

The Financial Centre Development Department supports the growth of Singapore as an international financial centre and fosters key strategic activities and capabilities to deepen Singapore's position as a world-class financial hub. Data & Technology Architecture

The role involves provisioning, monitoring and maintaining the necessary infrastructure and Enterprise Data Science Platforms (EDSPs) to support data analysis and processing tasks.

Join a dynamic enterprise network team managing one of Singapore's most critical financial infrastructure environments. As an intern, you will be embedded in a team responsible for a large-scale, multi-site network spanning headquarters, data centers, and overseas offices — supporting thousands of users and mission-critical financial systems.
You will get hands-on exposure to real-world enterprise networking, cybersecurity operations, and digital transformation projects. This is not a passive observational role — you will contribute meaningfully to live infrastructure projects and day-to-day operations, working alongside experienced network engineers on technologies used by leading organizations globally.
During your internship, you can expect to be involved in areas such as network observability and monitoring, firewall rule management and clean-up, load balancer and DNS operations, network access control, vulnerability management, and infrastructure upgrade projects. You will also gain exposure to IT service management processes, vendor coordination, and procurement activities — giving you a well-rounded view of how enterprise technology teams operate in a regulated environment.

By the end of the internship, you are expected to contribute on the following:

• Assist in the documentation and clean-up of obsolete firewall rules and unused load balancer virtual IPs, producing a clear audit report of findings and recommendations
• Support the team in network observability tasks using tools such as SolarWinds, helping to set up dashboards or alerts for infrastructure monitoring
• Contribute to at least one planned infrastructure upgrade or project (such as switch upgrades, GCC connectivity enablement, or WAF enforcement), with a written summary of your involvement and lessons learnt
• Help maintain and improve network documentation, including IP address management records, device inventory, and configuration baselines
• Assist in drafting or reviewing change requests in line with ITSM processes, building familiarity with structured change management in a production environment

This internship offers exposure with practical experience across several high-demand domains.

On the technical side, you will gain hands-on familiarity with enterprise networking technologies including firewalls (Palo Alto, Checkpoint), load balancers (F5), network access control, DNS management, and network observability platforms. You will also be exposed to cloud and hybrid network environments including GCC (Government Commercial Cloud) and internet security infrastructure.

Beyond the technical skills, you will develop a strong understanding of how IT operations work in a structured, regulated setting — including change management, incident management, and vendor coordination.
