Monetary Policy Statement
Blackout period begins 21 days priorFor 21 calendar days prior to the release of the Monetary Policy Statement, MAS staff involved in formulating monetary policy will refrain from commenting on Singapore’s monetary policy, as well as conjunctural developments and outlook of the Singapore economy. MAS’ Corporate Communications staff will continue to provide factual and publicly available information to external parties. However, no briefings or information related to monetary policy will be provided by MAS staff during this period. The blackout will end with the release of the Monetary Policy Statement. Before the blackout period, requests to the Economic Policy Group for discussions on the economic outlook can be considered. If acceded to, these discussions will be conducted in a group setting. Requests to join these group discussions can be submitted from the first working day of the month preceding the release of each Monetary Policy Statement. For example, requests for January should be submitted at the beginning of December. Admission will be subject to space constraints.
