Description of project |
Under the TEDA Programme, you will be supporting the analytics work to enhance MAS’ ongoing surveillance and supervision of the fund management industry in Singapore. You will be responsible for supporting key projects such as MAS’ Fund Data Collection Project and MAS’ Fund Management Risk Assessment and Analysis, as well as supporting day-to-day data/analytical needs of the department as necessary. During the programme, you will have the opportunities to work closely with internal stakeholders (e.g. MAS’ supervisory teams, analytics team) and external stakeholders (e.g. vendors, FIs) to ensure that deliverables are achieved and to troubleshoot issues. |
Expected deliverables for the project | - Collect and analyse data from MAS’ Fund Data Collection Project and MAS’ Fund Management Survey (throughout the programme). - Design and develop dashboards, visualization charts, tables, and graphs, using off-the-shelf products (e.g. Tableau) and open-source tools (e.g. Python) (throughout the programme). - Leverage on data insights to inform surveillance and supervisory work in the fund management industry (throughout the programme). - Track activities against project schedule and take actions when there are deviations from agreed tolerances (throughout the programme). - Recommend and deliver effective solutions to address project-related issues, as well as to support day-to-day data/analytical needs of the department, as necessary (throughout the programme). |

Expected deliverables for the project | - Analysing data on grants and tax incentives. Harnessing data on grants and tax incentives awarded to enable up-to-date monitoring and to analyse the data to support scheme design and allocation frameworks. - Analytics for Wealth Management-related Data. Streamline storage and format of data collected from MAS’ Wealth Management-related surveys, such as the private banking Survey and Survey of family offices, and to analyse the data to drive development work. - Formal TEDA programme training curriculum/structure. |

Under the TEDA Programme, you will be part of a team that develops dashboards and analytics based on regulatory submissions provided by trading platforms and financial market infrastructure providers licensed by MAS. The dashboards and analytics will be used to enhance MAS's ongoing monitoring and supervisory oversight over the financial markets and licensed entities. |
Expected deliverables for the project | - Data preparation: Format, clean and prepare raw data inputs from regulatory submissions for analysis, which are submitted in various data formats (e.g. PDF, MS word, MS excel). - Data pipeline setup: Establish a framework to automate the collection, collation and cleaning of raw data inputs. - Data governance: Establish an internal governance framework for the access, handling and storage of data obtained from regulatory submissions. - Data analytics and storytelling: Develop dashboards and analytics using cleaned data, in consultation with the supervisory teams. Incorporate the dashboards and analytics into the broader department supervisory framework for monitoring risks and compliance by the licensed entities. |

Expected deliverables for the project | - Perform stocktake of data across different products and surveys - Develop scripts and processes to consolidate data into a centralised platform for analysis - design, Develop and maintain Tableau dashboards to enable self-service access and analysis of data across the platform - Generate analytical insights from the data based on needs from stakeholders - Generate new insights that may not be identified by stakeholders - Partner services stakeholders to prepare the reports/dashboards to describe the findings/improvements. |

Description of project |
Under the TEDA Programme, you will work with the SSA team and internal stakeholders such as Technology Group and supervisory teams, to design and implement data engineering solutions/products. The end goal is to help build up the data-mart(s) for the financial supervision group. |
Expected deliverables for the project | Along with SSA team members, and in consultation/collaboration with Technology Group’s Data Collection Platform Division (DCP), and financial supervisors (as needed), perform the following tasks: - Stand up new production database(s) that would be used to house regulatory returns and survey data for FSG/CMG. - Fine-tune and implement TG’s data ingestion framework to execute the Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) tasks needed to extract data from individual surveys, and load these into the new production database (raw). - Design and implement as needed, processes to clean these respective datasets and load the cleaned data into another new production database (clean). - Work with TG/DCP Div on the approach and implementation to develop data universes within SAP BI 4.1 for management reporting purposes. - Design, build, test and deploy data models using object oriented programming concepts, that would form a data integration layer supporting suptech development. As a member of the SSA team, you will work with the team to perform the tasks in accordance with the broader product timelines and milestones. |
