Coin set issued to coincide with Singapore's 39th birthday

Singapore, 30 June 2004...The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) today launched the 2004 Base Metal Proof Coin Set.
 
2   The Singapore 2004 Base Metal Proof Set features coins with a mirror-like finishing. Based on the flora series design currently in circulation, the set was first issued in 2003.  It consists of the 5¢, 10¢, 20¢, 50¢ and $1 coins as well as a 12-sided scallop-edged $5 coin.
 
3   As coins form an integral part of our nation's heritage, the coin set will be issued on 2 August 2004 to coincide with Singapore's 39th National Day Celebrations.

Limited Worldwide Mintage

4   The mintage of the coin set is limited to 20,000  worldwide.  Each set comes in a special box with a Certificate of Authenticity issued by MAS. 

5   The 2004 Base Metal Proof coin set will be sold at $48.00 each (GST inclusive). 

Special Coin Sets

6   The Singapore Mint has also put together two special coin sets: "Our Progressive Nation" Collectible Set and "Together, A New Singapore" Collectible Set.

7   "Our Progressive Nation" Collectible Set comprises the 2004 Base Metal Proof Coins and a 2004 24 K Gold-Plated Medallion with Colour Application featuring the 2004 National Day Parade Logo.  This set is priced at $88 (GST inclusive) and the mintage is limited to 5,000.   

8   "Together, A New Singapore" Collectible Set consists of the 2004 Base Metal Proof coins and 8gm 999 Silver Proof-Like Medallion with Colour Application featuring the 2004 National Day Parade Logo.  It is priced at $108 (GST inclusive) and the mintage is limited to 1,000 sets.
