Key Enforcement Actions Taken by MAS in Q3 2026

Singapore, 1 October 2026… The table below provides an overview of the key public enforcement actions taken by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (“MAS”) from July to September 2026. 

2 MAS can take a range of enforcement actions for breaches of the laws under its administration, including reprimands, composition penalties, prohibition orders, civil penalties and referring a case for criminal prosecution. In assessing the type of enforcement action to impose, MAS takes into account the need to deter similar misconduct as well as to safeguard the integrity of Singapore as a financial centre.

Date Regulatory/Enforcement Actions Details 
06 July 2026 MAS issued a 10-year Prohibition Order (“PO”) against Mr Andrew Tiew Siew Ing, a former representative of AXA Insurance Pte Ltd. This follows his conviction in the State Courts for cheating offences.  MAS Issues Prohibition Order against Andrew Tiew Siew Ing for Cheating Offences
09 July 2026 Following a joint investigation conducted by MAS and the Commercial Affairs Department of the Singapore Police Force, Samlit Moneychanger Pte. Ltd. (“Samlit”) was charged in court for failure to comply with a direction on complaints handling under the Monetary Authority of Singapore Act 1970 and the Financial Services and Markets Act 2022 (“FSMA”). Samlit’s Director and Compliance Manager were also charged for the same under the FSMA.  Samlit Moneychanger Pte. 03 August 2026 MAS issued a 6-year PO against Ms Lai Mei Lin, a former representative and Unit Manager of Manulife Financial Advisers Pte. Ltd. This follows her conviction in the State Courts for forgery offences and offences under the Computer Misuse Act.   MAS Issues Prohibition Order against Lai Mei Lin
25 September 2026 MAS issued a 5-year PO against Ms Goh Hui Bin and a 4-year PO against Mr Vijendren S/O Tanapal, both former representatives of DBS Bank Ltd. This follows their separate convictions in the State Courts for forgery offences.  MAS issues Prohibition Orders against former representatives, Ms Goh Hui Bin and Mr Vijendren S/O Tanapal
