Question:

To ask the Prime Minister what is the current percentage of HDB homes with mortgages that are financed by commercial banks.

Answer by Mr Tharman Shanmugaratnam, Senior Minister and Minister in charge of MAS:

1. As at Q2 2022, 42% of all households who live in HDB homes have outstanding mortgage loans. Of these, 63% were granted by HDB and the remaining 37% were granted by financial institutions (FIs).
