MAS Issues Prohibition Order against Low Jia Mei, Camie for Unauthorised Access to Bank Customer Information

Singapore, 12 August 2026… The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) has issued a 4-year Prohibition Order (PO) against Ms Low Jia Mei, Camie under the Financial Services and Markets Act 2022 (FSMA), for offences relating to unauthorised access to customer information.

2. Ms Low is a former relationship manager with Standard Chartered Bank (Singapore) Limited. On 10 separate occasions during the course of her employment, Ms Low used the computers of other bank staff to access the personal information and transactional history of a customer. She did so without authorisation, and for personal reasons unrelated to her course of work.

3. On 26 February 2024, Ms Low was convicted of two charges of unauthorised access to computer material under the Computer Misuse Act, with two other charges taken into consideration for the purpose of sentencing. Ms Low was sentenced to a fine of $12,000.

4. In view of her offences, MAS is satisfied that Ms Low is not a fit and proper person, in accordance with the Guidelines on Fit and Proper Criteria under section 7 of the FSMA.

5. Under the PO, effective 12 August 2026, Ms Low is prohibited for 4 years from carrying on or providing any MAS regulated or authorised activity or business, from participating (directly or indirectly) in the management of any financial institution, and from acting as a director, partner or manager, of any financial institution. She is also prohibited from becoming, or increasing her interest as a substantial shareholder of any financial institution that is a corporation, and from performing the function of critical system administration.
