MAS Transformation
A digital, agile, and efficient organisation, driven by empathy and centred on people
To meet a rapidly changing global environment driven by digital innovation and new business trends, MAS continued to advance our internal transformation.
Some of our efforts over the past year include:
Technology transformation – MAS is transforming its technology landscape to build modern, robust and scalable infrastructure and applications. We continue to evolve our legacy technology and silos, into a consistent and modular enterprise architecture and platforms that enable the creation of integrated digital products and services. In 2021, we implemented automation tools including ServiceNow to provide service-orientation and workflow for Business-IT management that forms the foundation for end-to-end automation and visibility in IT processes and activities. We developed the TechLens platform prototype as a single pane of window for monitoring and managing IT systems and infrastructure, and are onboarding the systems and infrastructure components, as well as adding new capabilities to the platform.
Data transformation – MAS is laying the foundations to become a data-driven organisation. We implemented a harmonised policy framework that governs MAS’ information, and established a network of data and knowledge stewards across departments. In 2021, we implemented the enterprise data lake for information storage and sharing, and are enhancing its capability in computing and analytics. In 2022, we launched an enterprise data and knowledge platform that also interoperates with other digital products and platforms, for MAS staff to find and harness data and other information more effectively and enhance work efficiency outcomes for MAS.
Future of Work – MAS is deepening Ops-Tech integration through platform and product teams comprising business users and tech officers. For example, MAS is piloting a one-stop touchpoint for financial institutions’ transactions with MAS. We are also continuing our efforts to enhance internal efficiency through Robotic Process Automation, and have implemented projects saving more than 10,200 hours annually. In 2022, we will level up efforts in capability building across product strategy, UX design, agile practices, internal communications and change management.
Future of Workforce – MAS has embarked on a journey of workforce planning to identify the competencies that our staff would require over the next three to five years. We are supporting our staff in developing the necessary skills, including through live training and asynchronous e-learning based on our ACT (Analytics-driven, Customer-centric, Tech-enabled) curriculum. We are also equipping staff with Ops-Tech skills and AI fundamentals to identify potential use cases.
Future of Workplace – As we embrace a hybrid work arrangement, MAS is redesigning our office space to enhance collaboration and pandemic resilience. We have implemented our future of workplace design on two floors in MAS Building. We target to transform the rest of our workspaces, including in Currency House, by 2024. We will also incorporate engineering solutions such as air quality sensors to foster a safe and conducive workplace environment.
