MAS Consults on Updates to Guidelines on Liquidity Risk Management for Fund Management Companies

MAS launched a public consultation on proposed updates to the Guidelines on Liquidity Risk Management for fund management companies (FMCs). The proposed updates aim to provide greater clarity on MAS’ expectations on the management of liquidity risks by FMCs, and are consistent with recent updates to international standards issued by IOSCO and FSB.
MAS Consulted on the Proposals to Dematerialise Shares of Listed Companies and Enhance the Central Securities Depositories (CSDs) Regime

MAS consulted on proposals to facilitate dematerialisation of shares of listed companies by removing the requirement for physical share certificates and enabling title to shares of listed companies to be evidenced electronically. MAS also consulted on proposals to update the regulatory regime and enhance oversight of central securities depositories.
Consultation Papers on Enhancements to MAS’ Resolution Regime for Capital Market Infrastructures

MAS consulted on the draft Notice and Guidelines on recovery and resolution planning (RRP), and proposals to introduce statutory bail-in powers for resolution of capital market infrastructures. These align MAS’ requirements with international standards.
Information Papers on Risk Management and Valuation Practices for Fund Management Companies

MAS conducted thematic inspections on risk management and valuation practices of selected fund management companies that manage funds across a range of investment strategies. The papers cover MAS’ general observations, including areas for improvement and set out MAS’ supervisory expectations for effective governance structures, frameworks, policies and procedures, and controls for (i) overseeing and managing the investment process, and (ii) valuing of funds’ assets.
