At the Sibos 2022 Conference, MAS Managing Director Mr Ravi Menon discussed how FinTech could potentially play a transformative role in addressing cross-border payment and settlement challenges, and having a high quality, trusted environmental, social and governance (ESG) data ecosystem.
Record turnout from the global FinTech community at Singapore FinTech Festival (SFF) 2022

The seventh edition of SFF, with the theme “Building Resilient Business Models amid Volatility and Change”, attracted more than 62,000 participants from over 115 countries, making it the largest SFF gathering since the inaugural edition in 2016.
SFF 2022 featured more than 850 speakers from private and public sectors who participated in plenary sessions, industry panels and roundtables. The SFF Exhibition saw more than 570 exhibitor booths, including 25 international country pavilions. Over 60 industry announcements were made at SFF 2022, including international public-private collaborations, product launches and joint-research releases.

Financial planning for Singaporeans enhanced with inclusion of insurance data on the Singapore Financial Data Exchange (SGFinDex)

MAS and the Smart Nation and Digital Government Group (SNDGG) announced that individuals were now able to digitally access and aggregate information on insurance policies held across different participating insurers, on SGFinDex. The inclusion of insurance data would make it easier for individuals to identify insurance protection gaps and have a more comprehensive view of their financial status, in order to make more informed financial planning decisions.
MAS and Singapore FinTech Association (SFA) announced award winners at SFF 2022

MAS and SFA announced the winners of the Global FinTech Hackcelerator and the SFF Global FinTech Awards, at the SFF. The winners, comprising financial institutions, FinTechs and solution providers, were recognised for their innovative solutions that could help to accelerate the pace of digitalisation, innovation, and sustainability in the financial industry.
