At the Green Shoots Seminar, MAS Managing Director Mr Ravi Menon shared MAS’ strategy to develop Singapore as an innovative and responsible digital asset ecosystem, by promoting value-adding digital asset use cases that offer transformative economic potential, while making clear that speculation in cryptocurrency is very risky for the retail public.
Proposed regulatory measures to reduce risks to consumers from cryptocurrency trading and enhance standards of stablecoin-related activities

MAS issued two consultation papers proposing regulatory measures to mitigate the risk of consumer harm from cryptocurrency trading as well as to require stablecoin issuers to maintain a high degree of value stability. The proposed measures mark the next milestone in enhancing Singapore’s regulatory approach to foster an innovative and responsible digital asset ecosystem.
