Growing Timber Series and Singapore Financial Forum

At the inaugural Singapore Financial Forum (SgFF), MAS Managing Director Mr Ravi Menon spoke about the growth of Singapore’s financial sector and its job prospects, and MAS’ strategies to build a future-ready workforce that comprises a strong local talent pool and complementary global talent. Co-organised by IBF, the Economic Development Board, Singapore Global Network and MAS, SgFF also featured panel discussions with industry leaders on key developments and outlook in FinTech, Sustainable Finance and Wealth Management, as well as new opportunities from across the financial sector.
MAS and IBF adjusted training scheme funding parameters amid stepped up skills development support for the finance sector

MAS and IBF announced changes to provide more targeted support under the IBF training schemes. These changes would better enable MAS to continue with increased funding support in growth and priority areas.
Talent and Leaders in Finance Programme

MAS announced that it had set aside S$400 million in grant funding from the Financial Sector Development Fund for the Talent and Leaders in Finance Programme over 2021 to 2025, to support skills training for finance professionals at different stages of their careers and to develop more finance specialists and leaders in the Singapore workforce.
Launch of the Future Skills Accelerator (FSA)

At the IBF Distinction Evening 2022, Minister for Trade and Industry Mr Gan Kim Yong launched the FSA, a platform leveraging artificial intelligence to transform workforce planning and development. It automates the process of identifying skills needed for different job roles, recommending training to close the skills gaps, and facilitating job movements within an organisation. The FSA was co-developed by IBF with JobTech and PwC Singapore, with the support of MAS and a group of 15 financial institutions (FIs).
Talent Pavilion@SFF 2022
2-4 November 2022
The Talent Pavilion , held in conjunction with SFF, showcased key jobs and skills in demand to support the development of the FinTech sector in Singapore. Resources to support upskilling and workforce transformation for financial professionals to develop Tech skills and pivot into FinTech roles were featured, and IBF Career Advisors were onsite to provide career coaching to professionals seeking job opportunities in the sector.
