China-Singapore (Chongqing) Connectivity Initiative New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor (CCI-ILSTC) Trade and Financial Conference

The CCI-ILSTC Trade and Financial Conference held in Singapore to mark the 10th anniversary of the CCI, brought together participants from the trade and financial industry to explore opportunities between Western China and the ASEAN region. Discussions focussed on the growing trade and financial linkages and connectivity between Chongqing and ASEAN, as well as exploring cooperation in new areas, such as green finance and digital connectivity.

10th UK-Singapore Financial Dialogue

3 July 2025

The 10th UK-Singapore Financial Dialogue showcased the strong and continued collaboration between the UK and Singapore, with discussions focusing on digital finance and innovation, sustainable finance, capital markets and international regulatory developments. The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and MAS reflected on the progress of Project Guardian, agreed to deepen collaboration through joint work with the UK’s Investment Association and the Investment Management Association of Singapore, and agreed to develop joint collaboration on artificial intelligence. The UK and Singapore also updated on their respective approaches to fostering sustainable finance and strengthening capital markets, and exchanged views on international financial regulatory engagement and priorities.

Partnership between MAS and UK FCA on AI-in-Finance

MAS and the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) announced a new strategic partnership on artificial intelligence (AI) in Finance – termed the UK-Singapore AI-in-Finance Partnership - exploring the joint testing of AI solutions, exchange of regulatory insights, discussions on responsible AI, and collaborative events to spotlight best-in-class approaches. The partnership will also build on key AI industry programmes – MAS PathFin.ai and FCA AI Spotlight – to facilitate cross sharing of quality solutions by participating firms and related programmes to strengthen AI collaboration between both financial centres.

Signing of MAS-Otoritas Jasa Keuangan (OJK) Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Cooperation in Financial Technology

MAS and OJK deepened FinTech cooperation via an upgraded MOU on Cooperation in Financial Technology. Specific new initiatives include sharing of knowledge and best practices between MAS and OJK; promoting cooperation between the financial institutions in both countries; referring promising FinTech firms to participate in each other’s regulatory sandboxes; facilitating the flow of information across borders when FinTech firms conduct business within their licensed scope of activities.

21st Joint Council for Bilateral Cooperation (JCBC) Meeting

15 December 2025

At the 21st JCBC meeting held in Chongqing, China, MAS and its Chinese counterparts announced new financial and capital markets initiatives to strengthen financial cooperation with China. These included the appointment of DBS Bank as Singapore's second Renminbi clearing bank; support for secondary listings of A-share companies on the SGX; commencement of the over-the-counter bond market arrangement through Bank of China and DBS Bank; and launch of an e-CNY pilot for Singapore travellers to enhance payment convenience for travellers in China.

MAS Distinguished Term Professorship in Economics and Finance at National University of Singapore (NUS)

12 January 2026 and 16 February 2026

The MAS Distinguished Term Professorship in Economics and Finance appoints distinguished scholars as Visiting Professors at NUS, with the aim of strengthening Singapore’s financial and economic research infrastructure and fostering a vibrant research community at local universities. On 12 January 2026, NUS and MAS jointly appointed Professor Alan M. Taylor as the MAS Distinguished Term Professor in Economics and Finance from 12 to 16 January 2026. On 16 February 2026, NUS and MAS jointly appointed Professor Arvind Krishnamurthy as the MAS Distinguished Term Professor in Economics and Finance from 18 to 28 February 2026.

MAS’ Chairmanship of the IOSCO FinTech Task Force (FTF)

March 2022 to April 2026

The FTF was established in March 2022 to lead IOSCO’s work in the area of FinTech. MAS was the inaugural Chair of the FTF until April 2026, and worked with fellow regulators to spearhead the development of IOSCO’s recommendations to address issues associated with crypto and digital asset markets, decentralised finance and tokenisation, as well as artificial intelligence and quantum computing, culminating in several Final Reports published in 2025.
